Self-control is the ability to experience a range of feelings and express them using the words and actions that society considers appropriate. The skills associated with self-control allow children to get along with peers and adults and participate in an array of classroom routines, activities and experiences.
Children with strong self-control engage in the following behaviors most of the time:
Control his/her anger
Show patience
Share with other children
Calm herself/himself down when upset
Listen to or respect others
Accept another choice when her/his first choice was unavailable
Handle frustration well
Cooperate with others
Our album, I Can Settle Down, received a 2010 Creative Child Magazine CD of the Year Award! Creative Child toy awards are conducted by moms and educators who review a variety and products and pick their favorites. We are thrilled to receive their highest award!
“On behalf of Amazing Grace Preschool, I want to thank you for the fantastic songs you provide. These songs are such a hit that my children request them and sometimes when they misbehave I play the “self-control” song. These songs aren’t just for children, the songs can also give parents a new perspective about their child. Thank you again for using your God given talents to enrich the lives of children through song.”
