Like Down on the Farm, this is a simple concept-development song. Many of our youngest learners, especially those with developmental or communication disabilities, need to have songs that target the basics and can be sung slowly. Although the lyrics are simple, they still address the concept of categorization (zoo animals) and the association of sounds with the corresponding animals. The concept of "zoo" is repeated several times, and there is ample time for the children to contribute their own animal sounds.
