Gratitude is the only character strength for which we have a national holiday. Perhaps that’s an indication of its importance. A persistent attitude of gratitude produces a child who sees the glass as half full rather than half empty. Children enjoy singing this upbeat song and parents love hearing it.
I'm Thankful for What I've Got (2:53)
I'm thankful for what I've got
So thankful for what I've got
For all the joy that is, for all the junk that's not
I'm thankful for what I've got, yeah
So thankful for what I've got
I may not eat in fancy restaurants
But at least I don't have to eat coal
I may not live in a mansion
But at least I don't live on top a telephone pole
I'm thankful for what I've got
So thankful for what I've got
For all the joy that is, for all the junk that's not
I'm thankful for what I've got, yeah
So thankful for what I've got
I may not ride in a fancy car
But I least I don't ride a giraffe
I may not have a lot of money
But it doesn't cost a penny to laugh
(everybody laugh with me)
I'm thankful for what I've got
So thankful for what I've got
For all the joy that is,
for all the junk that's not
I'm thankful for what I've got,
yeah
So thankful for what I've got
