This experiential children's song is a concrete reminder to a child that they are surrounded by people who love them.  We want children to firmly internalize the experience of being loved and loving in return.  When that love is clearly recognized and felt, the child's beliefs about themselves, other people and the world in general is very positive.  This love creates a secure attachment to adults which will carry over to positive relationships to teachers, authority figures, friends, etc. as the child matures.  They see adults as sources of hope and guidance.
