The prestigious Oppenheim Toy Portfolio group bestowed their highest honor, the Platinum Audio Award, to our album Beautiful Baby, Wonderful Child. The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio awards have become a benchmark of excellence with consumers, toy makers and the media. They are the only independent consumer review of children’s media by child development experts.
This children’s song reminds us how "tuned-in" we must be as parents to the rapidly changing needs of infants. Young infants are "stimulus-bound," meaning when they're hungry, they let us know. When they're sleepy they let us know. When they want stimulation, they let us know. When they've had enough, they let us know.
Parents, especially mothers become very adept at reading and anticipating cues from their baby. We become quick to react to their changing needs. The more we are in tune to these changing needs, the more our infants experience the world around them as a consistent and safe environment and the more secure they feel.
Lyrics
I've had enough, enough, enough
Listen to the one you love
I've had enough
I want some more, some more, some more
Watch the eyes that you adore
I want some more
Push and pull, empty, full
Yes and no, stop and go
Just begun, over and done
Watch me close, I know
I want some more, some more, some more
Watch the eyes that you adore
I want some more
Push and pull, empty, full
Yes and no, stop and go
Just begun, over and done
Watch me close, I know
I've had enough, enough, enough
Listen to the one you love
I've had enough
Tips for Parents
- Often fathers enjoy a little rough-housing with older infants, and we love it when they respond with giggles and want to do it again and again. However, sometimes we are not so good at reading the baby's cues that they’ve had enough. Look for your baby’s cues that while they’ve had fun, they’re ready to move on to a different activity.
- When children want to climb up on your lap for a quick hug, don't continue to hold them there once they start to struggle to get down. If a child learns that you won't respond to their cue that they’re finished, they won't want to initiate a cuddle next time.
