Tips for Parents

Ask your child, "Who is in our family? Who do you love? Do we have any special nick names for people in your family?"
Every you hear the word "LOVE" in the song, hug yourselves like they are getting an imaginary hug from a special person, or hug each other.
Personalize the song by including the special name of someone your family.
Go Away and Come Back - A simple example of a "go away" and "come back" activity includes hiding figures in the sand and remarking, "my truck went away, and now it comes back." Repeat this burying game with a variety of objects and continue to reinforce the concept that things and people come back.
Where I Go - Help children cope with separation by showing your child all the places you go when leaving. Also create simple images of home, school, and work and put pictures of children, teachers and parents in the appropriate places.
