Tips for Parents                                  

• Ask your child, "Do you know what it means to count on someone? Who are people that you know that you can count on? Who can count to ten?"
• During the lyrics "count on you," encourage your child to point to someone they can count on.
• Thank You Notes - To support the concept of "counting on" adults and friends, give your child the opportunity to write a thank you note to special people that they have been able to count on.  Set up supplies for card making and be sure help them jot down their sentiments.
• Count On Count Down - If your child has difficulty seeking adult attention or support (other than yours'), you can use the concepts from this song to help brainstorm a top 5 list of people she can turn to if she wants to play, read, get help or talk.  Give her this list to keep in her pocket and review it with her regularly.
