I Can Do It!  Based on Resilience theory research, the songs from this album are specifically designed to help your child build creativity, independence, planning, people skills, optimism, confidence, and problem-solving skills.

When a child has confidence they are more likely to exhibit initiative, thinking and acting independently to meet their own needs.  Confidence allows children to engage in the important acts of asking questions, making and carrying out plans, problem solving, using creativity and meeting new people and tasks with optimism.

Children with strong confidence engage in the following behaviors most of the time:

  • Do things for himself
  • Keep trying when unsuccessful (act persistent)
  • Ask other children to play
  • Try or ask to try new things or activities
  • Start or organize play with other children
  • Participate actively in make-believe play
  • Try different ways to solve a problem
  • Focus his attention or concentrate on a task or activity
  • Choose to do a task that was challenging
  • Say positive things about the future  (act optimistic)
  • Make decisions for himself
