What is Growing Sound?

Founded in 2007 as a new venture of Children, Inc., Growing Sound was developed to create music and other products that translate key findings from recent child development research into practical and entertaining products for teachers, parents, and children.  As genuine breakthroughs in child development research increase there is a widening gap between what researchers know and what many parents and teachers practice.  Parents and teachers want to optimize their child’s development but they lack the time and expertise to digest the growing volume of research.  Growing Sound answers this need by providing a line of products that distills the research into practical and fun activities for home and school.

To date, Growing Sound has produced a suite of children’s musical products that are available in traditional formats as well as electronic downloads making them easy to use at home, in the car or at school.   All of our songs have been field-tested in our classrooms to ensure the songs resonate with kids, teachers and parents.  Parents and teachers are provided with interactive strategies they can enjoy doing with their child and simple explanations of the research behind the products to help maximize the experience. 

Growing Sound is a proactive, strength-based approach to helping children discover the goodness in their lives and in themselves.

Working with the Devereux Foundation, one of the organization’s first initiatives was to develop a suite of musical products called Songs of Resilience.  These songs were developed with the intention of building the inherent protective factors within each child.  These songs have been so well-received that we developed additional DECA-related products including:

Our Deca-related products are available exclusively for purchase via Kaplan Early Learning Company. 
In addition to our Deca-related products, we then worked on producing some additional parent-focused CDs and other materials based on recent research in Mastery Motivation and Positive Psychology.  These products include:

We are currently working on many other new products based on the field of Positive Psychology and Executive Brain Functions.
